Porte Brunet suite
Located to the south of Saint-Émilion, Porte Brunet is a reminder of the town’s medieval past. Built at the same time as the ramparts in the 12th century, this imposing gate symbolised the prestige and power of the village, while protecting it and justifying the charging of an entrance fee. Unlike the six other gates, which have fallen victim to the ravages of time, Porte Brunet has crossed the centuries and today gives its name to one of the 4 comfortable Suites at Maison de la Cadène.
This vast, light-filled suite has a charming country chic feel, with antique parquet floors with the patina of age, elegant mouldings and light, soothing tones. Opposite the bed, the imposing fireplace completes the chic and charmingly old-fashioned décor of this classic 17th-century residence.
