1782 room

It was in 1782 that Jean de Boüard de Laforest, the King’s bodyguard, arrived in Saint-Émilion. His daughter Catherine Sophie married Charles Souffrain de Lavergne in 1795 and settled at her husband’s estate, the Mazerat vineyard, which is now Château Angelus. This date thus marks the start of a fantastic family saga that continues from generation to generation.

The centuries have left a delicate patina, and this room discreetly bears witness to the rich history of Logis de la Cadène: the old restored floor, the antique mirror placed on the mantelpiece. The taupe grey colours and beautiful materials - wood and linen - echo the natural surroundings. The spacious, light-filled bathroom, with its hip bath, is a delight to laze around in. This cosy, comfortable room overlooks the bell tower and the Tour du Roy, symbols of continuity.
